Get $300 by opening a capital one account!

Capital One $300 Reward Checking Signup Bonus!!!!! (Exp. 12-31-09? may be longer)
Capital One is currently offering $300 for opening a reward checking account with direct deposit. Minimum Opening Deposit is $50.

Just go to branch to open and get the banker to open it and put in the code RC3 you will get the bonus after sending Direct Deposit. I have done this in the past for their $200 and $150 bonuses without any problems and an ACH push from my checking account worked just fine for the Direct Deposit.

Officially some bankers may require you to bring in an actual mailer that you received with your name on it like it says in the first line of fine print, but most bankers won't read that closely and show them that at the top all it says is "Simply visit your local Capital One Bank branch to get started - be sure to MENTION code RC3" and does not say you have to bring a mailer of any sort like some of the previous offers, but then again it is slightly YMMV to get the account open. (BTW I just opened mine this morning no problem with just a printout of the form

With Regards to Existing Customer: It is a Capital One Bank policy that you are only allowed to have one Rewards Checking account at any given time but you are allowed to have as many Completely Free Checkings as you want. So if you already have a rewards Checking account with them and want to get in on this offer and don't want to close your existing account simply call Capital One at (800) 655-2265 and ask them to convert your account from a Rewards Checking Account to a Completely Free Checking Account (process takes approx. 3 minutes)

Fees: No Monthly Fees!! and No minimum balance requirement on this account, Direct Deposit is only needed to receive the bonus.

Capital One Bank has branches in the following States: Connecticut, Louisiana, New York, New Jersey and Texas.
